Test Positivity Rate Is 0.5%; Crdits Goes to Yogi Model; Government

While other states failed to control the covid positivity rate, the state government claimed that the Uttar Pradesh government’s ‘Yogi Model’ (Test-Trace-Treat (T3) helped control the spread of the disease. Currently in UP, test positivity is 0.5 per cent. This is the lowest rate so far. The positivity rate is less than 1 per cent for five consecutive days.

The state government’s claim is compared to the positivity rate in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra. According to a UP government release, test positivity is 19, 16.4 and 16.51 per cent respectively in these states. The government also claimed that the recovery rate in the state rose to 96.4 per cent due to vigilance, bold decisions and swift measures by officials.

More than 6,000 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. The Government said in a statement that the implementation of the ‘Yogi model’ has managed to control the spread of the covid. On Saturday, 340,096 people were tested in the state. Of these, about 140,000 people were tested by RT-PCR.
