Vellappally Natesan Launches Scathing Attack on Congress, Accuses Party of Ideological Compromise

In a fiery address at a meeting in Vaikom, SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing the party of compromising its ideology for the sake of appeasing its ‘vote bank.’ Natesan expressed disappointment in the Congress’s delay in deciding whether to attend the Ram temple consecration ceremony, highlighting the contrast with the party’s historical role in India’s independence.

During his speech, Natesan remarked, “Now, here we are talking about a party that helped us gain independence. I feel sad.” He also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi, who is expected to contest from Wayanad, suggesting that the party’s decisions are driven by electoral considerations rather than steadfast adherence to principles.

Despite the potential perception of promoting casteism and communalism, Natesan asserted that he speaks the truth. He criticized political parties in the country for compromising on their ideologies and prioritizing the appeasement of ‘vote banks’ for electoral gains. Natesan’s strong words reflect a broader sentiment of dissatisfaction with the perceived shifts in political principles for short-term political advantages.
