CBSE 12 class Exams Cancelled

The Union Government has decided to cancel the examination, putting an end to months of concerns over the CBSE and ISE Class 12 examinations. The decision was taken during a high-level committee chaired by the Prime Minister and included Prime Ministers Amit Shah, Prakash Javadekar, Piyush Goyal and Nirmala Sitharaman. The Prime Minister directed that a timely roadmap for evaluation should be prepared and those who want to take the exam as in the previous year should be allowed to do so later.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded that such a decision was taken considering the safety and health of the students.

Our Nation is going through an extraordinary period. The country’s daily number of covid patients is low, but lockdown is in place in many states. Students cannot be forced to take the exam. A permanent solution is needed. Modi said he thanked the states for their responses.

Earlier, class X examinations were cancelled. The meeting came in the backdrop of the Supreme Court demanding a reply tomorrow on a petition seeking cancellation of class 12 examinations as well.

Last year, the students were able to take three exams before lockdown. The evaluation was in consideration of these marks and internal marks. But this time the students did not go to school. The students had expressed concern over the evaluation based on internal marks during this period. Therefore, considering the marks in Classes 9, 10 and 11, the Board is considering giving internal marks in Class 12. Schools affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISE) Board have been asked to collect information for the average marks obtained by class XI students in class XII. The time given to schools to provide mark information is up to the 7th of this month.

Management welcoming the decision to cancel the exam, they demanded a definite standard for evaluation. Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal welcomed the decision.
