The filming of Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ has been postponed after crew members tested positive for COVID.

The production of Tom Cruise’s much-anticipated film ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ has been delayed after crew members tested positive for the novel coronavirus during routine testing on Thursday.

According to Variety, a spokesperson for the Paramount and Skydance production confirmed that work on the film will be halted until June 14. “We have temporarily halted production on ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ until June 14th, due to positive coronavirus test results during routine testing. We are following all safety protocols and will continue to monitor the situation,” read the statement

The latest movieĀ in Tom Cruise’s action franchise was filming in the United Kingdom when the COVID positive test occurred. According to Variety, Cruise returned to the UK after a Christmas break in the United States, with production shifting from Warner Bros.

The film’s production was initially halted in October when 12 people tested positive on the sets in Italy. In December, the production was relocated to the United Kingdom.

The 58-year-old actor headlined the film’s last agenda when he expressed frustration with crew members who did not follow standards of social distance.

Variety reports that Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, Charles Parnell, Mark Gatiss, and Greg Tarzan Davis will join Cruise in the latest mission as Ethan Hunt.

 

The highly anticipated Christopher McQuarrie film is set to be released on November 19, 2021.
