Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have blessed with a Baby girl , Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed their second child. On Friday, June 4, the former actress gave birth to a baby girl at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California.

The couple named their daughter Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor after Queen Elizabeth II and Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. According to reports, Lili weighed 7 lbs 11 oz at birth.

On Sunday (June 6), an official announcement was made without any pictures of the newborn child. The baby is said to be eighth in line to the throne of the United Kingdom. “On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe,” Harry and Meghan said in a statement.

“Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family,” The spokesperson added that both the baby and mother are doing well and are back at home.
The baby’s first name, Lilibet, is said to be a tribute to Her Majesty. In the meantime, the Queen’s middle name is Princess Diana, in honor of her grandmother and Harry’s mother. During an explosive US television interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, Meghan and Harry revealed that they were expecting a girl. The interview took place a year after the couple stepped down from their royal duties and relocated to the United States to pursue a more independent lifestyle.

Meghan accused the royal family of racism in the interview, and she admitted to feeling suicidal in the early days of her marriage. Buckingham Palace responded by saying the couple’s allegations of racism were “concerning” and that the matter would be addressed privately.
