THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the recommendation of the health and police departments, the government has extended the statewide lockdown until June 16. On June 13 and 14, there will be a total lockdown. Meanwhile, by High Court orders, it was decided to include advocates and High Court staff in the priority vaccination category. Employees of private bus companies would also be prioritized.

The health department was given instructions to determine whether respiratory therapists should be stationed at hospitals treating Category C Covid patients. A decision was also made to conduct a scientific study on Covid infection in children.
