Cabinet Decides to Provide Onam Kits to Yellow Card Holders, Allocates Funds for Distribution

During recent cabinet meeting, it was determined that only holders of the yellow Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cards and residents of welfare institutions in the state will receive free Onam kits, containing essential items for the upcoming Onam festival. Additionally, a sum of Rs 32 crore will be pre-allocated to Supplyco for this purpose. The distribution will include 6,07,691 kits, with 5,87,691 AAY cardholders and 20,000 kits for welfare institution residents. Ration shops will facilitate the distribution of these kits, which include tea, green gram, semiya payasam mix, ghee, cashew nuts, coconut oil, spices, and a cloth bag.

Furthermore, the cabinet has extended the term of 20 temporary posts for Land Acquisition Sections in Alappuzha, Malappuram, Kasaragod, and Kannur Collectorates, which were initially granted an extension until March 31, 2021. This extension will now last from April 1, 2021, until March 31, 2024.

In addition, advocate K V Manoj has been appointed as the chairperson of the Kerala State Child Rights Protection Commission.
