A Jharkhand BJP leader’s daughter was discovered hanging from a tree with her eye gouged out, and her family accuses her of rape and murder.

On Wednesday, a 16-year-old girl’s body was discovered suspended from a tree in Lalimati forest in Jharkhand’s Palamu district. According to the police, the minor’s right eye was gouged out before she was killed and her body was hung from a tree.

The girl was the daughter of a local BJP leader and lived in Budhabar village, which is under the jurisdiction of Panki police station. She was in Class 10 at the time.

On Wednesday evening, the girl’s body was cremated at the local crematorium. She was the eldest of five children born to the BJP leader.

Pradeep Kumar Singh Dhanuk (23) was arrested in connection with the case after preliminary analysis of call data records (CDR) from a mobile phone recovered from the crime scene. According to the police, the main suspect, Dhanuk, is a married man who may have had accomplices.

When did the girl missing
The girl went missing after leaving home at 10 a.m. on June 7, according to her family.

The girl’s family had filed a missing persons complaint on Tuesday, according to Ashok Kumar, station in-charge (SI) of Panki police station. Locals discovered her body hanging from a tree in the forest near Budhabar village while the police were searching for her, he added.

The girl’s body was found hanging from a tree with a cloth around her neck, her right eye gouged out. Officials believe she was brutally beaten before being killed and her body hung from a tree to make it appear as if she had committed suicide.

On Wednesday, her body was taken to the Medini Rai Medical College in Medininagar for a post-mortem. The girl’s family claimed that the killers sexually assaulted her.

Police are waiting for the post-mortem report.

The post-mortem report will determine whether this is a case of rape followed by murder, according to Palamu Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kumar.”The police are looking into the matter from every angle,” SP Kumar said, adding that preliminary evidence suggests the victim was involved with a man.

According to SP Kumar, “It was strongly opposed by the victim’s family. There was a heated exchange of words and a scuffle between the victim’s family and the victim a few days ago, after which the victim went missing.”

Meanwhile, Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that if the police investigation fails to dispel the grieving family’s concerns, the party will demand an independent investigation.
