Buddhadeb Dasgupta, a national award-winning film director, died at the age of 77.

Eminent film director Buddhadeb Dasgupta died at his home in Kolkata early Thursday due to old-age-related ailments, according to family members. He was 77 years old.
Dasgupta’s wife and two daughters from his previous marriage survive him.
According to family members, the national award-winning director had kidney problems for a long time and was on dialysis twice a week.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her condolences on his death.
“We are saddened by the death of eminent filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta. He created lyricism into the cinematic language through his works. His death is a huge loss for the film industry. Please accept my condolences to his family, colleagues, and admirers “Banerjee stated on Twitter.
