The Bihar government has allowed schools and colleges to reopen at 50% capacity, and several COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.

The Bihar government announced further relaxations in lockdown restrictions as part of the phased-in Unlock process, as well as several Covid-19 curbs.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, announced on Monday that universities, colleges, technical educational institutions, government training institutes, and schools in the state will be allowed to open with 50% attendance.

The Bihar government, according to Nitish Kumar, will make special arrangements for vaccination of students, teachers, and educational institution staff.

He also stated that government and private offices can resume full-fledged operations. So far, government and private offices have been allowed to reopen and function with only half of their staff.

Kumar also stated that restaurants and eateries can work with a 50% seating capacity. The government has stated that standard operating procedures, guidelines, and Covid appropriate behaviour compliance will be strictly enforced.

Bihar has recorded 109 new Covid cases and 211 recoveries in the last 24 hours, according to the most recent health bulletin. The recovery rate in the state is 98.47 percent, which is higher than the national average.
