After 68K tests on Monday, Kerala had 7,719 new COVID cases.

On Monday, Kerala reported 7,719 new Covid cases and 16,743 recoveries.

As a result, the number of active Covid cases in the state has been reduced to 1,13,817.

So far, 26,10,368 have been cured of the disease.

Of the new cases, 7,138 were infected through contact, 36 were from outside the state, and 52 were healthcare workers.

In the last 24 hours, 68,573 samples were tested.

So far, 2,12,89,498 samples have been tested.

The state’s test positivity rate (TPR) is 11.26.

Previously, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the State would only consider loosening lockdown restrictions if the TPR fell below 10.

Kerala has declared a state of emergency until June 16.

The state’s average TPR over the last three days is 12.7.

Except for Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, and Malappuram, the state’s other 11 districts have reported TPRs of less than 15.

This is less than ten in Alappuzha and Kozhikode.

TPR in the state has dropped by 10% since last week. Daily Covid cases fell by 20% during the same period.

Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kollam districts had the most cases, with 1170, 977, and 791 reported, respectively.

On Monday, a total of 161 Covid deaths were confirmed.

The state’s Covid death toll now stands at 11,342.

Currently, 5,25,331 people are being watched across the state.

4,95,279 are being quarantined at home or in institutions, while 30,052 are being treated in hospitals.
