AIIMS Delhi will reopen its Outpatient Department (OPD) on June 18th.

New Delhi: The All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) declared on Tuesday (June 15) that it would gradually restart outpatient department (OPD) services, with the aim of resuming them by June 18.

The decision was made in light of a decrease in new COVID-19 cases in the nation’s capital.

The decision was made by AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria, according to Medical Superintendent Dr DK Sharma.

The notification said, “In view of the significant decrease in Covid-19 incidents, the Director AIIMS has agreed to re-start the OPD services in a phased manner at the earliest but latest by 18th June 2021 (Friday).”

For the time being, OPD registration will be limited to online or telephonic appointments. As the COVID situation improves, walk-in registrations will be permitted at a later date.

On Monday, 255 new COVID cases were recorded in Delhi, with 376 recoveries and 23 deaths. The rate of positivity was 0.35 percent.
