A 24-year-old Kerala lady was discovered immolated, and her parents suspect her husband of harassment.

In the last two days, a woman named Archana was discovered dead in Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, as a result of alleged dowry harassment. Archana’s immolated body was discovered in the rented property where she and her husband Suresh had been staying, according to sources. Suresh, according to Archana’s relatives, drove her to suicide.

According to accounts, Archana and Suresh had a love marriage, but a few months later, Suresh’s father demanded Rs 3 lakh as dowry. The money was given to Suresh’s brother in order for him to purchase some land. However, Archana’s father stated that he did not have the necessary funds, and the conversation ended there. However, this episode caused friction between Suresh and his other family members, and he soon moved out of the house and into a rented one with Archana. Since then, the husband and wife have been the only residents.

Archana died about 11.30 p.m. on June 21st, according to reports. Suresh had arrived to pick up Archana on Monday, and this time he was carrying a diesel can. Asokan, Archana’s father, claims that his daughter was murdered, while Suresh claims that he purchased the diesel to kill insects.

“She was crying when I met her a few times.” Why did he buy the diesel? “My daughter did not commit suicide; she was murdered,” Archana’s father claimed.

Suresh has also been accused by Asokan of becoming drunk and then fighting with Archana. Asokan, Archana’s father, told the media on Tuesday, “After becoming intoxicated, he (Suresh) would abandon her and quarrel with her. She used to keep a lot of things from us. Despite the fact that she had a B.Sc. in Nursing, he would not let her work.”

Suresh, Archana’s husband, has been arrested based on the father’s allegations. Though the police have taken Suresh into custody for interrogation, no charges have been filed as of yet.
