From July 1, there will be no need for an e-pass to enter Himachal Pradesh.

Due to a decrease in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to eliminate mandatory e-passes for tourists beginning July 1. The Himachal Pradesh government’s decision comes at a time when the state’s positivity rate has been steadily declining. From July 1, the state government has permitted the movement of interstate buses with a capacity of 50% or less, including private buses.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over the cabinet meeting that made these decisions. Other decisions made by the state government included the full-fledged opening of government offices.

The state government also announced that beginning July 1, restaurants in the state will be able to open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Furthermore, social gatherings can be held at 50% of the location’s capacity, with a maximum of 50 people in indoor settings and 100 in outdoor settings.

Meanwhile, when the Himachal Pradesh government relaxed COVID-imposed restrictions earlier this month, thousands of tourists were seen rushing into the state, causing massive traffic congestion on roads leading to Himachal Pradesh.
