The Kerala State Documentary and Short Film Festival will take place in September.

From September 25 to 30, 2021, the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy will host the 13th edition of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival (IDSFFK). The Kerala State Documentary and Short Film Festival will take place in September. The decision on whether the festival will be held online or in theatres will be made in light of the evolving scenario with the COVID-19 outbreak. Entries for the festival have been welcomed, and they must be submitted online by August 10 at www.idsffk.in.

“The IDSFFK will be held on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, and will be subject to the growing scenario of the global pandemic COVID-19. The celebration would adhere to the criteria established by the Kerala government at the time “said the institution in a statement.

Due to the epidemic, the Chalachitra Academy held its annual International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in February this year, rather than its regular December 2020 date. The festival was later held in four different sections of the state, with the same films being shown in each location, with a limited audience and COVID-19 limitations. There was a minor controversy at the time, with people in Thiruvananthapuram objecting against taking the IFFK to other cities, despite the fact that the same films were presented in each location. The IFFK has been held in the capital city for many years, despite the fact that its first edition was held in Kozhikode in 1996.
