Larry Rudolph, Britney Spears’ manager, resigns, citing the singer’s desire to ‘officially retire.’

New Delhi: Larry Rudolph, who has managed the career of American singer and songwriter Britney Spears since the mid-1990s, has resigned, citing his client’s decision to withdraw from music.

Rudolph informed Britney’s co-conservators, her father Jamie Spears and court-appointed conservator Jodi Montgomery, in a letter acquired by Deadline on Monday, that he was stepping down as her manager.

He stated, “I learned earlier today that Britney had announced her intention to fully retire. And, as her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interests for me to leave her team because my professional services are no longer required.”

Rudolph has been Britney’s manager since 1995, guiding her through her meteoric journey to popularity. Aerosmith, Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, O-Town, will. i.am, Toni Braxton, Nicole Scherzinger, Swizz Beatz, and Kim Petras are among the artists he has collaborated with.

Britney attacked her managers in court last month, telling a Los Angeles judge that they “had a significant role in punishing me,” along with her father and “everyone engaged in this conservatorship.” “They should be in jail,” Britney said.

Rudolph, on the other hand, said in his statement that he had “never been a part of Spears’ conservatorship or its activities.” “I am not privy to many of these information,” Rudolph remarked.

“I was initially employed at Britney’s request to help her manage and advance her career. I will be eternally grateful for everything we accomplished in our 25 years together. I wish Britney the best of health and happiness, and I promise to be there for her if she ever needs me again, as I always have been “He continued.

Rudolph’s departure comes only days after Bessemer Trust, which managed Britney’s estate alongside Jamie, was granted its request to be removed as Britney’s co-conservator.

The company cited Britney’s claim of “irreparable harm to her interests” as the reason for the change, explaining that they believed Britney “consented” to having them when they joined as co-conservator of her estate in November 2020 and insisting that they have played no role in making any decisions since being appointed.

Britney’s 68-year-old father is now the sole conservator of her inheritance as a result of her departure. Since 2019, Montgomery has served as Britney’s temporary conservator, a position previously held by Jamie.

Jamie and Montgomery have recently spat over who is to blame for Britney’s “suffering.”

Britney just appeared in court for the first time in years on June 23, delivering emotional evidence about the impacts of her conservatorship and explaining that she wants it to end without an external examination.

According to People magazine, Britney was not questioned by her conservators’ lawyers during the hearing, nor did they have the opportunity to refute her charges in court. As the judge noted in June, Britney must still file a formal application to end the conservatorship.
