All cardholders will receive a special Onam kit, and ration dealers will be insured.

For the festival, the cabinet has decided to provide Onam kits to all ration card holders in the state. The cabinet also decided to provide all ration dealers with insurance coverage of Rs 7.5 lakh.

During the Covid pandemic, as many as 40 ration shop dealers were killed. The insurance coverage was chosen because these dealers interact with the general public on a regular basis.

The Cabinet also decided to pay Rs 20 lakh in solatium to the family of Arshad, who died as a result of a snakebite at the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo. The remaining Rs 10 lakh will be used to complete the house’s construction. The government also decided to provide jobs for dependents and to fund children’s education.
