India has 43,393 new Covid cases and 911 new fatalities.

New Delhi:According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday, India recorded 43,393 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 3,07,52,950, while active cases fell to 4,58,727.

The death toll has risen to 4,05,939, with 911 new victims.
Active cases account for 1.49 percent of total infections, with a national COVID-19 recovery rate of 97.19 percent.
In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 1,977 cases.
On Thursday, 17,90,708 tests were carried out, bringing the total number of COVID-19 detection tests carried out in the country to 42,70,16,605, with a daily positivity rate of 2.42 percent.
It has been less than 3% for 18 days in a row, according to the ministry, and the weekly positivity rate has dropped to 2.36 percent, according to the ministry.

According to the data, the number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 2,98,88,284, with a case fatality rate of 1.32 percent.

The total number of vaccine doses administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has reached 36.89 crore.

The COVID-19 tally in India reached 20 lakh on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It surpassed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19. On May 4, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.

There have been 911 new fatalities, with 439 from Maharashtra, 142 from Kerala, and 62 from Karnataka.

So far, 4,05,939 deaths have been reported in the country, with Maharashtra accounting for 1,24,296 deaths, Karnataka accounting for 35,663, Tamil Nadu accounting for 33,253, Delhi accounting for 25,008, Uttar Pradesh accounting for 22,676, West Bengal accounting for 17,867, and Punjab accounting for 16,157.

The ministry emphasised that comorbidities were responsible for more than 70% of the deaths.

“Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the ministry said on its website, adding that the state-by-state distribution of figures is still subject to verification and reconciliation.
