The precise launch date has yet to be announced, but it is expected to be announced in the coming days. Customers who are interested in purchasing the Chetak electric scooter can visit the brand’s website and register their interest.

In addition to Nagpur, the company plans to launch the scooter in Hyderabad and Chennai. Currently, the e-scooter is available in Pune, Mangalore, Bangalore, Mysore, Aurangabad, and now Nagpur.

The electric scooters are sold exclusively at all KTM dealerships in all cities and will be sold in the same manner in new and upcoming cities.

Specifications, Battery Range, and Charging

In terms of the scooter, the Chetak is powered by a 4kW electric motor and a 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric powertrain has a maximum torque of 16Nm and a riding range of 95km on a single charge.

Fast-charging technology is also included with the e-scooter. According to the company, the scooter will have enough juice to travel 25 kilometres on an hour’s charge.

The Chetak has a retro design with contoured body panels that pays homage to previous IC engine scooters sold. The Chetak EV has the following features:

DRLs that are integrated
LED taillights and turn signals
Clusters of digital instruments
Switches that are activated by feather touch
Trims in chrome around the headlamps

In terms of mechanics, the scooter’s suspension is handled by a single side tubular suspension at the front and a mono-shock setup at the back. The electric scooter is equipped with a disc brake in the front and a drum brake in the back.
