After Uttar Pradesh, Bihar is on high alert as an Al Qaeda module in Lucknow issues a terror alert.

After two terrorists linked to Al Qaeda were arrested in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the Bihar State Police Headquarters issued an alert in all districts and railway stations on Sunday. The Special Branch of Bihar Police and CID released a statement saying, “All sensitive and state border area officials have been asked to keep vigilant.”

Earlier today, the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) team in Uttar Pradesh busted an Al Qaeda module and apprehended two terrorists who were allegedly planning a suicide bombing in the area.

Suspicious material was recovered from the house, including two pressure-cooker bombs, a detonator, and 6 to 7 kilogrammes of explosives.

In light of the terror strike plan, an alert was issued in the Lucknow Commissionerate area, as well as Hardoi, Sitapur, Barabanki, Unnao, and Rae Bareli districts and western Uttar Pradesh.

According to ATS sources, preliminary investigations have revealed that the two terrorists planned to target a BJP MP and senior BJP leaders in Lucknow.
