On July 14, BTech exams will be held in an offline mode.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Technological University (KTU) has declared that BTech examinations planned on July 14 will be held in offline format, as previously announced. The decision goes against the All-India Council for Technical Education’s (c) recommendation that engineering exams be conducted online.

KTU, which is officially known as A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University, claimed in a news release that the AICTE had merely given them permission to investigate the possibility of taking online exams. “There are no circumstances to postpone offline exams,” KTU stated.

The AICTE’s directive to KTU came at a time when the university was finalising plans to offer offline tests. The national organisation intervened in the matter after a complaint was lodged by Member of Parliament Kodikkunnil Suresh to the AICTE, claiming that safety risks were involved in offline tests in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
