On Wednesday, Kerala recorded 15,637 new Covid cases, with 128 fatalities, the TPR at 10.03

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s health department reported 15,637 new Covid cases on Wednesday, according to a press release. With 128 new deaths, the death toll reached 14,938. The test positivity rate was 10.03.

In the last 24 hours, 1,55,882 samples were tested. In total, 248,04,801 samples were sent for testing, including routine samples, sentinel samples, CBNAAT, Truenat, POCT, PCR, RTLAMP, and antigen.

57 new COVID patients were returned from out of state. Contact with the virus resulted in the infection of 14,717 people. The source of infection for 797 patients has yet to be identified.

In addition, 66 health workers tested positive for Covid-19. Twelve were from Kannur, nine from Kasaragod, six from Thrissur, Malappuram, and Palakkad, five from Pathanamthitta and Kottayam, four from Kollam, Kozhikode, and Wayanad, three from Thiruvananthapuram, and two from Ernakulam.

In the meantime, the state reported 12,974 recoveries.

The number of active cases in the state now stands at 1,17,708 as a result of this. So far, 29,70,175 people have recovered from the disease.

In the state, 3,92,170 people are currently being monitored. There are 3,67,560 people under home/institutional quarantine, and 24,610 are in hospitals. On Wednesday, 2373 people were taken to hospitals.
