PM Modi will Inaugurate a 5-star hotel atop the Gandhinagar railway station, which cost 790 crores to build.

The Gujarat government stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will use video conferencing to open a newly constructed five-star hotel atop the refurbished Gandhinagar Railway station on July 16.

After the Prime Minister held a groundbreaking ceremony, the renovation project and hotel building began in January 2017. The 318-room premium hotel will be managed by a private company. According to a government news release, it covers 7,400 square metres and cost Rs 790 crore to construct.The hotel was established to accommodate national and international visitors attending seminars and conferences at Mahatma Mandir, a convention centre located directly across the street from the hotel.

On the same day, the Prime Minister will electronically inaugurate three additional projects at Ahmedabad’s Science City: an aquatic gallery, a robotic exhibition, and a natural park. The aquatic gallery’s newest features are India’s largest aquarium, built at a cost of 264 crores to accommodate 68 enormous tanks for marine life, and a gallery with a 28-meter-long underwater pedestrian tunnel for seeing marine species, according to a press release.

During the virtual inauguration, newly appointed railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani, and other dignitaries will be present. The Gandhinagar-Varanasi weekly superfast train and the Gandhinagar-Varetha Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train will also be flagged off by the Prime Minister. He will dedicate the newly electrified Mehsana-Varetha broad gauge rail line, which runs through Vadnagar (the Prime Minister’s hometown), as well as a 266-kilometer section between Surendranagar and Pipavav station.
