The Indian Army denies media reports that Chinese troops are clashing with Indian troops in Eastern Ladakh.

New Delhi: The Indian Army refuted media reports on Wednesday (July 14, 2021) that Chinese troops had clashed with India in Eastern Ladakh once more.

According to the Indian Army, the news article was published with “uncorroborated facts” and is strongly refuted. They went on to say that it is “riddled with inaccuracies and misinformation.” The Army also stated that the news report claiming that agreements with China have been terminated is ‘false and baseless.’

Since the disengagement agreement in February of this year, neither side has attempted to occupy the areas where the disengagement was carried out. As reported in the article, there have been no clashes in Galwan or elsewhere. “The reporter’s intent is malafide and not based on any truth,” the Army said in a statement.

They also stated that negotiations between India and China to resolve the balance issues have continued, and that regular patrolling in respective areas has continued.

The Indian Army stated that the situation on the ground remains unchanged and that they are monitoring PLA activities, including troop turnover.

It should be noted that the border standoff between the Indian and Chinese militaries along the Line of Actual Control deteriorated last year after a violent clash in mid-June. The two parties are currently in talks to extend the disengagement process to the remaining points of contention.
