COVID-19: Kerala reported 13,773 cases on Thursday, with a death toll of almost 15,000 people.

Kerala reported 13,773 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases reported in the state to 31,17,083.

The state’s death toll has increased to 15,025, with 87 deaths confirmed on Thursday.

As many as 12,370 people were cured of the infection, bringing the total number of people cured to 29,82,545.

According to a press release from Health Minister Veena George, the number of active cases has reached 1,19,022. For the past 15 days, the caseload has remained above one lakh.

In the last 24 hours, 1,25,742 samples were tested, with a 10.95% test positivity rate. So far, 2,49,30,543 samples have been sent for testing (including the augmented sample).

57 of the positive cases were health workers, 56 were from outside the state, and 13,043 were infected through contact. The source of infection for 617 of them remains unknown.
