PM Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi today and will inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 1500 crore
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi on Thursday (July 15, 2021) to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth Rs 1500 crore. On the eve of his visit, PM Modi tweeted on Wednesday evening, “Tomorrow, July 15th, I will be in Kashi to inaugurate a wide range of development projects totaling more than Rs. 1500 crore. These projects will contribute to the people of Kashi and Poorvanchal’s “Ease of Living.””
On Thursday morning, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate a 100-bed MCH wing in BHU, Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development on the Ganga, multi-level parking at Godauliya, and a three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway.
According to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the projects that the Prime Minister will inaugurate will be worth approximately Rs 744 crores, and public works will be worth approximately Rs 839 crores.
“These include the Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology’s (CIPET) Centre for Skill and Technical Support, 143 rural projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and a mango and vegetable integrated pack house in Karkhiyanv,” according to a PMO release.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the International Cooperation and Convention Centre – Rudrakash, which was built with Japanese assistance. In the afternoon, there will be an inspection of a Maternal and Child Health Wing at BHU. According to the PMO release, the Prime Minister will also meet with officials and medical professionals to review COVID-19 preparations.
