A drone has been spotted in Jammu’s Samba district, security agencies an alert
Jammu: On the heels of the drone attack on Jammu air base, another drone was spotted on Thursday night in Jammu and Kashmir’s Hiranagar sector of Samba district.
At around 8.45 p.m., a local resident spotted the drone and alerted security agencies, who are on high alert.
Meanwhile, a drone was spotted at the Air Force Station (AIF) in Jammu between Wednesday and Thursday night, according to ANI. However, the incident’s specifics have yet to be confirmed.
The Srinagar administration banned the sale, possession, and use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles a week after the drone attack at Jammu’s Air Force base.
On June 27, two Indian Air Force personnel were injured in a drone attack at the Jammu Air Force station. According to investigators, the attackers used a mixture of RDX and nitrate in the IEDs, which were used to carry out the blast with the two drones.
The case is currently being investigated by the National Investigation Agency. The drones are thought to have come from across the border.
Since the June attack, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Industry Security Force (CISF) have been tasked with acquiring anti-drone systems for the nearly 3,500-kilometer-long International Border as well as civilian airports.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation issued draught rules earlier today to ensure the ease of use of drones in India based on “trust, self-certification, and non-intrusive monitoring.” Once notified, the Drone Rules, 2021 will take the place of the UAS Rules, 2021, which went into effect on March 12 of this year.
