T Naseeruddin claims that shops will reopen tomorrow and that the CM cannot threaten traders.
T Naseeruddin, President of Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti, announced that stores across the state will operate on Saturday. He also chastised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his comments on traders who protested the COVID restrictions on the streets.
“The CM is unable to threaten traders. We are unconcerned by his statement that if shops are opened, traders will be dealt with legally “Naseeruddin stated.
The Chief Minister has called a meeting with traders for 3.30 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday and Sunday, the state government has declared a state of emergency throughout the state. However, the traders’ organisation has stated that they will open the shops despite the restrictions.
The traders demanded that the government grant them permission to open shops on a regular basis.
The president of the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti stated that the traders are unwilling to abide by any restrictions unless the government meets their demands.
Naseeruddin’s response made headlines in the wake of the CM’s meeting with the traders.
As requested by the traders, CM informed them of his willingness to meet with them on Friday morning. However, due to CM’s prior commitments, the meeting was rescheduled for the evening.
