What to eat and what to avoid during monsoon

Monsoon is a beauty but it gives a favourable environment for the germination of disease-causing microorganisms. From food infections to mosquito related diseases monsoon cause several kinds of illnesses. So to stay  healthy and keep your immune system healthy in this season through a balanced diet.  Here is what you should eat and not to eat during monsoon.

Avoid oily and spicy food

It will be nice to eat pakoras and samosas in the rain. But oily and spicy food may make you feel bloated. Gut related issues are common \during monsoon because humidity slows down our metabolism. It makes it hard for our gut to absorb nutrients from the food.

Avoid leafy green

Leafy greens are store house of nutrients. But during monsoon avoid them. It will become bad easily in this season due to moisture on the leaves. Also humidity in the weather makes plants a perfect breeding ground for germs. So avoid foods like spinach, cabbage, and cauliflower.

Eat spices

Spices are full of antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Adding more spices like turmeric, black pepper and clove in your diet may protect against infection helps from cold and flu and also boost immunity.
