On July 18, heavy rain and flash floods are expected in Jammu and Kashmir, IMD issues advisory

Heavy rains and flash floods can cause surface transportation to be disrupted, according to the statement.

Heavy to very heavy rains, thunder, and flash floods have been forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, according to the Meteorological Department.

“Lower and middle level tropospheric winds from the north Arabian Sea are most likely to combine with Easterly Winds (from the Bay of Bengal) from the 18th to 21st July,” according to the alert.

From the 19th to the 21st, the system is most likely to bring widespread Heavy to Very Heavy Rain, Thunder, and Lightning to most places in Jammu, primarily in the Pirpanjal Range and plains of Jammu division, and Moderate to Heavy Rain/ Thunder with Lightning to many places in Kashmir division,” it added.
