Upcoming Changes to Asian Women’s Champions League: New Format and Schedule from Next Year

Starting from the upcoming year, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has disclosed its plans to host the Asian Women’s Champions League. The initial stages of the competition are set to commence in August of the following year. As per reports from local media outlets, the group stage matches involving 12 teams are scheduled to kick off in October. The quarter-finals are anticipated to take place by March 2025, culminating in the final match planned for May of the same year.

For the first four seasons of the tournament, a total of 12 teams will engage in matches within three groups, each consisting of four teams. Subsequently, the teams securing the top two positions in each group, along with the most promising two third-placed teams across all groups, will advance to the quarter-finals.
