BJP’s Grand Strategy for Kerala LS Polls: Unveiling Celebrities and Political Heavyweights

In a bold move to establish a significant presence in Kerala, BJP is gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with a strategy that includes not only prominent political figures but also popular film stars and artists. Out of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, BJP plans to field well-known personalities in 10 constituencies. This decision stems from the positive response received by film star Suresh Gopi in Thrissur during previous elections.

Actor Unni Mukundan is being considered for the Pathanamthitta constituency, where BJP gained support in previous years, particularly due to the Sabarimala wave. Unni Mukundan, known for his association with Sangh politics, has shown enthusiasm, especially during the recent Ram temple inauguration. Other contenders for Pathanamthitta include Kummanam Rajasekharan and PC George.

In a noteworthy move, BJP leadership has reportedly approached the renowned singer K S Chithra to contest the Lok Sabha elections under the BJP banner. If Chithra accepts the offer, she may be considered for Thiruvananthapuram or Attingal. However, Chithra’s decision remains uncertain, given her recent displeasure over controversies surrounding her during the Ram temple ceremony.

Another potential candidate is PT Usha, a former athlete and Rajya Sabha MP, who may be considered for the Kozhikode constituency. The party believes Usha’s appeal could extend beyond traditional BJP supporters. Tushar Vellappally may be considered for Alappuzha, and there are speculations about BJP making a comeback in Rahul Gandhi’s constituency Wayanad, possibly with candidates like AP Abdullakkutty or Anil Antony.

As BJP unveils this grand strategy, the inclusion of celebrities and political heavyweights aims to appeal to a broader spectrum of voters, challenging the communist stronghold in the state.
