A Kerala nurse and her son were killed in a car-truck collision in Australia

Thrissur: A family from the Thrissur district was tragically killed in Tumba, a town in Australia’s New South Wales province. According to reports, two of the five-member family were killed in a car-truck collision as Thursday dawned.

Lotsy (35) and her two-year-old son are among the deceased.

Lotsy’s husband Bibin, as well as two other older children, were injured in the accident. Though Bibin’s condition is not critical, the children are reportedly in critical condition and are fighting for their lives in the intensive care unit.

Lotsy worked as a nurse in an Orange, New South Wales hospital. The accident occurred as the family was relocating to the Queensland province, where Lotsy had accepted a new position.

The family is from the Nadukunnu locality of Potta in Chalakudy, Kerala.

Locals refer to the small town of Tumbarumba, where the accident occurred, as Tumba. It is located approximately 480 kilometres south of the provincial capital of Sydney.
