LDF Observes Hartal in Idukki Against Governor’s Decision on Land Assignment Law

In protest against the Governor’s refusal to sign the land assignment law amendment bill passed by the state assembly, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has called for a hartal in Idukki district, Kerala. The hartal, scheduled from 6 am to 6 pm, is part of the LDF’s ongoing agitation against the Governor’s decision. Simultaneously, the LDF plans to organize a march to Raj Bhavan, amplifying their dissent over the matter. Intensifying the protest, effigies of the Governor were burnt in various locations across the district, led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM). Given the potential for demonstrations and conflicts, the police have implemented extensive security measures in and around Thodupuzha, particularly anticipating the Governor’s visit to participate in a program organized by the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES).
