Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) or sexually transmitted infections (STIs) spread through physical contact but in certain cases, can be caused by bacteria and parasites. both men and women can get it, the symptoms in women will be  more severe which leads to infertility. Some of the sexually transmitted infections are;

Chlamydia

This most common STD is a bacterial infection affects both men and women with a risk of transmitting the disease to the child in pregnant women. It can cause pelvic-inflammatory disease which damage the female reproductive system causing infertility.

Gonorrhea

Women might experience spotting between periods, vaginal discharge and pain during urination. It can spread to the uterus and fallopian tubes leading to infertility or tubal pregnancy.  In men, they may experience painful urination or mucus discharge from the penis.
