Lok Sabha Elections Scheduled in Seven Phases, Kerala Polls on April 26

The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, has announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which will be conducted in seven phases similar to the 2019 polls. Kerala is set to go to the polls on April 26, with the results slated to be declared on June 4. The election dates span from April 19 to June 1, encompassing various states and Union Territories across India.

Apart from Kerala, numerous regions including Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Andhra Pradesh will witness polling on specific dates within this period. With a staggering 97 crore voters expected to exercise their franchise, extensive arrangements are being made, including over 10.5 lakh polling stations manned by 1.5 crore personnel. Notably, special provisions such as the vote-from-home facility for voters above 85 years and those with disabilities have been introduced by the Election Commission of India (ECI). This election cycle also encompasses assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Odisha, thereby ushering in the Model Code of Conduct and setting the stage for a rigorous electoral process across the nation.
