Australia defeats India 7-1 in men’s hockey at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Australia defeated India 7-1 in a Pool match in Tokyo. On Sunday, the men’s hockey competition in the Olympics will be played here.

Australia took an early lead and added three more goals in the second quarter to lead 4-0 at halftime. Even though India pulled one back at the start of the third quarter, the outcome was certain. The Kookaburras added two more goals in the third quarter to seize complete control. They finished the tally in the fourth quarter.

Australia has six points from two games after their second consecutive victory, while India has three points from two games after defeating New Zealand in their first game.

India next meet Spain on Tuesday (6.30 am IST).
