In Malappuram district, 5,72,687 people have so far received the Covid vaccine, the district medical officer said. The first dose was given to 4,91,064 people and the second dose to 81,623 people. The first dose of Covid vaccine was given to 38,409 health workers and the second dose to 25,427 people. A total of 4,04,151 people over the age of 45 received the first-line vaccine and 30,261 received the second-stage vaccine.

Of those confirmed by covid yesterday, 267 are from Malappuram municipality. In Manjeri municipality 144 people, in Triprangode panchayat 142 people and in Nilambur municipality 137 people were newly affected by covid. About 60,304 people are currently under surveillance in the district as part of the covid prevention measures.
