Around 875 villages have been impacted, and 135,313 people have been relocated as a result of the flooding.

These figures are expected to rise as rescue workers work in various locations, primarily at the landslide site in Mahad taluka in Raigad district.

“Around 1 lakh 35 thousand people have been evacuated from flood-affected areas, according to data as of July 24 at 9.30 p.m. A total of 112 deaths and 3221 animals have been reported. A total of 53 people were injured, and 99 remain unaccounted for “The Department of Relief and Rehabilitation told the news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, floodwaters have inundated many areas of Maharashtra’s Sangli district, flooding roads and fields.

Locals in the area are on high alert 24 hours a day, alerting passers-by to the rising water levels.

“The situation is not good. The water is now receding toward Samdoli. Many vehicles are also stranded here “Sumit, a local, expressed his opinion.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted a large-scale search for missing people in Maharashtra’s Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Satara districts on Saturday. In collaboration with the state administration, 26 NDRF teams are working on relief and rescue operations in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri, Palghar, Raigad, Sahara, Sangli, Sindhudurg Nagar, and Kolhapur. A total of eight teams from Kolkata and Vadodara were airlifted to Maharashtra.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had earlier visited the landslide-affected area in Mahad’s Taliye Village. “Flooding is witnessed in Western Maharashtra during the monsoon due to the rise in water level of rivers,” he told the media. As a result, a policy for water management in this region will be developed. Everyone will be looked after.”

The State Disaster Response Fund has set aside Rs 2 crore each for Ratnagiri and Raigad districts, as well as Rs 50 lakh for all other affected districts to be used immediately.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced that each victim’s family will receive Rs 5 lakh in financial assistance, with the Central government also providing Rs 2 lakh in addition to ration kits.
