In a significant move, Malabar Milma has entered the farm tourism segment with the inauguration of its project by Kerala Tourism Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas. The farm tourism initiative is set to be executed by the Malabar Rural Development Foundation (MRDF), a sister concern of the Malabar Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (MRCMPU).

Initially, the project will be implemented in Wayanad district, offering travellers a unique experience that includes visits to tourist destinations, the Wayanad Milma Farm, and other nearby dairy farms. The travel packages will be categorized as premium, moderate, and medium, encompassing travel, food, and accommodation.

During the inaugural event, Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas emphasized the positive impact of the project on enhancing the tourism potential of Malabar. The initiative is expected to attract the attention of travellers seeking a blend of agricultural experiences and traditional tourist destinations. The government has pledged its full support to Malabar Milma’s foray into the farm tourism sector, highlighting the collaborative effort to promote sustainable and diversified tourism in the region.

As the project unfolds in Wayanad, there are prospects for its extension to other districts in the near future, promising an innovative and immersive tourism experience for visitors to the Malabar region.
