Delhi COVID unlock: What’s open, what’s closed, checkout new guidelines

New Delhi: While the number of coronavirus cases and deaths has decreased, Delhi has issued a new set of guidelines announcing several COVID-19 relaxations. On July 24, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDA) issued the most recent relaxations, which will take effect on July 26. (Monday).

The DDA stated in its order that the list of prohibited activities will remain in effect until 5 a.m. on August 9.

Delhi COVID-19 unlock: Here’s what’s allowed:

* The Delhi Metro and public buses can now operate at full capacity.

* Cinemas, theatres, and multiplexes will open with 50% capacity.

* The number of guests at weddings and funerals will be increased to 100 if COVID appropriate behaviour is strictly adhered to.

* Spas are permitted to open, but all employees must be fully vaccinated or submit to an RT-PCR test every two weeks.

* Intrastate bus movement (DTC and cluster) is permitted with 100 percent seating capacity.

* Public transportation, including autos, e-rickshaws, taxis, cabs, Gramin Sewa, and phat phat sewa, is permitted to carry up to two passengers.

* Public transportation, such as Maxi cabs, are permitted to transport up to five passengers.

* Religious institutions and sports stadiums are permitted to open.

* Online or distance learning is permitted for schools, colleges, educational institutions, and coaching organisations.

Delhi COVID-19 unlock: Here’s what is not allowed

1. No standing passengers will be permitted on the Delhi Metro once it reopens.

2. Standing passengers are not permitted on Delhi intrastate buses.

3. No visitors are permitted in religious buildings, and no spectators are permitted in stadiums and sports complexes.

4 All schools, colleges, educational institutions, and coaching facilities will remain closed.

Between April 19 and May 30, Delhi was under lockdown, and unlocking measures began on May 31 in stages. According to city health department data, no COVID-19 deaths were reported in Delhi on July 24, while 66 new cases were reported with a positivity rate of 0.09 percent.
