Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has announced his resignation

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa will resign on Monday evening. He broke down while announcing his decision.

“I’ve decided to step down. I’ll meet with the Governor after lunch “Yediyurappa made the remarks during a programme commemorating his government’s second anniversary.

The BJP’s central leadership has asked Yediyurappa to resign. In exchange, he demanded high-level positions in the party and government for his sons.

In 2008, the Lingayat strongman led the BJP to power for the first time in a South Indian state. His government, however, did not last long, as he was forced to resign in 2011 due to land dealing controversies in Bengaluru and Shimoga.
