State Government Allocates Rs 26.11 Crores to Clear Pending Salaries for ASHA Workers Ahead of Christmas

The Southern Railway has introduced a Vande Bharat Express special train to manage the influx of passengers during the ongoing Sabarimala season. The train, named Dr. MGR Chennai Central–Kottayam Vande Bharat Sabari Bi-weekly Special, will operate on specific dates, including December 15, 17, 22, and 24. Departing from Chennai Central at 04:30 hrs, the train is scheduled to reach Kottayam at 16:15 hrs on the same day. In the return direction, the Kottayam–Chennai Central Vande Bharat Sabari Bi-weekly Special will run on December 16, 18, 23, and 25, departing from Kottayam at 04:40 hrs and reaching Chennai Central at 17:15 hrs. The train will stop at key stations such as Katpadi, Salem, Palakkad, and Aluva.

The initiative aims to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees traveling to Sabarimala and will provide an additional travel option during the pilgrimage season. The train’s schedule aligns with the high demand for transportation to and from the Sabarimala pilgrimage site, helping to manage the passenger rush effectively and ensuring a convenient travel experience for devotees participating in the religious activities at Sabarimala.
