COVID-19 restrictions will remain in place; limited opening of textile shops and studios is permitted in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has stated unequivocally that the COVID-19 Test Positivity Rate (TPR) restrictions imposed in the state will not be lifted anytime soon. During the daily review meeting on the pandemic situation, the CM stated this.

The CM did say, however, that the reopening of textile stores would be considered.

Owners of businesses will need to make plans to follow the COVID protocol. A small number of vaccinated employees could be used.

Furthermore, studios will be permitted to operate on certain days of the week. This decision was made because applicants for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) must submit photographs.

The establishment of vocational training institutes without trainees will be considered as well.

On Tuesday, Kerala recorded 22,129 COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases reported from the state to 33,05,245. With 156 deaths reported on Tuesday as a result of COVID-19, the pandemic’s death toll has risen to 16,326.
