In just 24 hours, India has added 43,645 COVID-19 cases and 640 deaths

New Delhi: According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 43,654 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 3,14,84,605, with 640 more fatalities bringing the total to 4,22,022.

The number of active cases increased by 1,336 in just 24 hours to 3,99,436, accounting for 1.27 percent of all infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.39 percent, according to data updated at 8 a.m.

On Monday, 17,36,857 COVID-19 tests were administered, bringing the total number of tests administered to 46,09,00,978.

The daily positivity rate increased to 2.51% on Wednesday, up from 1.73 % on Tuesday. According to the data, the weekly positivity rate was 2.36 percent.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3,06,63,147, with a case fatality rate of 1.34 percent, according to the report.

So far, 44.61 crore COVID vaccine doses have been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.

The COVID-19 tally in India reached 20 lakh on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It surpassed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

On May 4, the caseload surpassed the dreadful 2 crore mark, and on June 23, it surpassed the 3 crore mark.
