The Centre is sending an expert team to Kerala because the state accounts for half of the daily Covid cases

Thiruvananthapuram: As the number of daily Covid cases in Kerala grows, the central government plans to send a 6-member expert team to the state to assess the situation. The National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be arriving in the state.

Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health, stated that the expert team will assist Kerala in its Covid resistance activities, as a large number of Covid cases are still being reported in the state on a daily basis.

Kerala accounts for more than half of the daily Covid cases reported in the country. According to the statistics, India recorded 43,509 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, with Kerala accounting for 22,056 of these.

According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country reached 3,15,28,114, with active cases increasing for the second day in a row. The death toll has risen to 4,22,662 with 640 new casualties.

The number of active cases has risen to 4,03,840, accounting for 1.28 percent of all infections, with the national COVID-19 recovery rate standing at 97.38 percent, according to data updated at 8 a.m.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has increased by 4,404 cases. According to the ministry, the weekly positivity rate was 2.38 percent.

According to the data, the number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3,07,01,612, with a case fatality rate of 1.34 percent. So far, 45.07 crore vaccine doses have been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
