The DGCA has extended the suspension of international flights until August 31
In a circular issued on Friday by aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the government extended the suspension on international flights until August 31.
However, the Vande Bharat Mission and other flights under air bubbles will continue, and people who meet the government’s eligibility requirements will be able to fly to and from India on them.
The decision comes amid the threat of a third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the emergence of the virus’s Delta variant in several countries.
International flights were scheduled to be suspended on March 23, 2020, but that date has now been extended.

The ban will remain in effect until 2359 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) on August 31, 2021, according to an order issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday.

During the second Covid disaster surge, which began in mid-April, approximately 20 countries imposed restrictions such as flight suspensions from India or stricter entry norms for travellers.
