The rising number of Coronavirus infections in Kerala is concerning: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appealed to Kerala residents on Friday (July 30) to follow all safety precautions and guidelines in light of the state’s increasing COIVD-19 cases.

In a tweet, the MP for Kerala’s Wayanad said, “Rising cases of Coronavirus infections in Kerala are concerning.”

Gandhi went on to say, “I urge all of our brothers and sisters in the state to adhere to all safety precautions and guidelines. Please be cautious.”

On Thursday, Kerala reported over 22,000 coronavirus cases for the third day in a row.

Following a steady increase in COVID-19 daily cases, the Union Health Ministry of Health and Family Welfare decided on Thursday to send a high-level multidisciplinary team to Kerala.

According to reports, the Central team will work with state health officials to implement effective public health measures for COVID-19 management.

The six-member team to Kerala is led by the Director of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), according to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

The team will visit a few districts after arriving in Kerala today, according to a health ministry release issued on Thursday.

Previously, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote a letter to the Kerala government about Super spreader events that occurred in the state recently. Bhushan also mentioned that Covid guidelines must be strictly adhered to.
