Vythiri in Wayanad becomes Kerala’s first fully vaccinated tourism destination

In good news for all visitors, the government announced on Thursday that Vythiri in Wayanad district has become Kerala’s first fully vaccinated tourism destination. Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas stated in a government release that in the post-pandemic phase, visitors are looking for a safe and welcoming place to spend their time. He stated that the government believes it is critical to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to all stakeholders in all locations across the state.

The statewide immunisation drive has gained traction in all tourist destinations, including hill stations, backwaters, and other heritage sites.
The initiative was announced earlier this month by the state tourism minister. Wayanad, which shares borders with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, is a major tourist destination known for its breathtaking scenery.

The minister expressed gratitude for the natural beauty and believes Wayanad has great tourism potential because it is a hub of holiday and leisure activities.

Employees of hotels and resorts, tour guides, taxi and autorickshaw drivers, and anyone else involved in the tourism industry are all part of the immunisation drive. Doctors and paramedics from Vythiri Taluk Headquarters Hospital and Sugandhagiri Primary Health Centre carried out the immunisation drive.
