To cross Walayar from Kerala, an RT-PCR or vaccination certificate is required

Due to an increase in daily COVID-19 cases in Kerala, authorities have implemented strict measures for people visiting Tamil Nadu from Kerala. The Coimbatore district administration tightened the rules.

If a person has not been fully vaccinated, they must produce an RT-PCR negative report within 72 hours. In the meantime, fully vaccinated individuals must show their vaccination certificate. If they do not comply with these measures, they will be subjected to COVID testing at the checkpoints.

The strict border measures, including Walayar, were implemented in response to an increase in COVID-19 cases in Kerala.

Only at the Coimbatore and Nilagiri border points are people entering Kerala required to show their RT-PCR negative report or vaccination certificate. Only in other locations is an E-pass issued by the Tamil Nadu government required.
